Breast Cysts

Breast cysts are fluid filled sacs in the breast that are usually benign. They are very common in young women (before menopause) and often come and go. They can vary in size throughout your menstrual cycle. They can be single or multiple, and usually do not require further investigation (such as a biopsy) unless they are causing symptoms or have an unusual appearance on ultrasound. Cysts do not usually require any treatment.
