Breast Pain

Many women will have breast pain (mastalgia) at some point in their life. It is a common condition that is not usually associated with anything sinister in the breast. It is usually a result of the normal development and involution of the breast tissue, and is commonly, but not always, associated with hormonal changes in your body. It is often described as sharp, burning, or aching.

You should always see your GP or Breast Specialist if you have persistent breast pain. The treatment is usually supportive, but a thorough breast assessment is important.
